I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Temple University. Previously, I was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science at the University of Memphis, and before that I was a postdoctoral scholar at the Center for the Study of Democratic Institutions at Vanderbilt University. I received my PhD in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

My research seeks to deepen our understanding of American democracy, primarily through an examination of state and local governments. To do so, I combine experimental and quasi-experimental designs with novel, rich data sets built from from surveys, election results, and administrative archives. Learn more about my research here.
